Credit Repair and Your Legal Rights

February 5th, 2007

Getting your credit repaired is not just a matter of knowing how to deal with creditors, collection firms, and consumer reporting agencies. It is also essential that you know your legal rights under the laws dealing with credit reports and credit repair organizations. Knowing your rights will aid you in your fight to regain a respectable credit rating, and will also help you to avoid the danger of falling for a credit repair scam.

You have a number of rights regarding what other parties may do what your credit information. The law states that consumer reporting agencies must and sure that the information found on your credit report is accurate. This is in line with the permissions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Therefore, if you believe there to be inaccuracies on your credit report, you can call the attention of the consumer reporting agencies and they will have to verify the information. If they cannot verify it, then under the law, they must make corrections to the report and send you a free copy of the corrected report. Furthermore, once an agency has made a correction to your credit report, it may not refile the negative information that was changed for a duration of five days since you received notice of the correction.

You also possess the right to have any negative information dropped from your report after a certain period of time. Bankruptcies should be removed from your report after a period of 10 years. A tax lien can only remain on your report for seven years after it has been paid for. Other types of negative information can only remain on the report for as long as seven years from the date the information was first provided.

By law, you are also entitled to receive a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the three national credit reporting agencies, which are Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.

The Credit Repair Organizations Act gives you certain rights when dealing with credit repair services. Credit repair firms are required to inform you of your rights and obligations before you can sign a contract with them. They are also prohibited from taking their fee from you before they provide you with their services. You are also given a five day waiting period after the contract signing in which you are allowed to get out of your contract at anytime without having to pay a fee.

Fix Wrong Information In Your Credit Report-TODAY

February 2nd, 2007

Other than eating, sleeping, and breathing, one of the most important things you should be doing on a regular basis is ensuring that the data in your credit report is accurate. That is such a simple statement, yet it is ignored by the vast majority of consumers, probably due to several factors, such as:

* Consumers seem to accept the fact that errors will “self correct” in a reasonable period of time, where in reality nothing could be further from the truth.

* Consumers don’t know how to find out if there is wrong information on their credit report, which impacts their total credit score negatively.

* Consumers don’t realize that having a low credit score (lower than what they deserve, if the information maintained by the credit bureaus was accurate) can impact a huge number of factors in their everyday lives.

* Consumers don’t realize that studies have shown that the MAJORITY of credit reports on consumers and businesses have errors and inaccuracies.

Your credit score is used by anyone loaning you money such as credit card companies, home loan lenders, auto loan lenders and finance companies. You need to find out what your credit score is before you talk to any lender in case there is something on your report that they may question. Your credit score is the actual number ranging from 300 to 850 that lenders use to judge your creditworthiness and the interest rate they’ll charge you. Having a credit score lower than what you actually deserve could mean the difference between getting approved for a loan or credit card, or being denied. If you are approved, a lower credit score can mean the difference of the lender assessing a 14% interest rate or a 6% interest rate, which can cost you hundreds and even thousands of dollars more at the end of the loan period.

The “big three” credit bureaus are required to give you a free copy of your credit report annually, or any time that you have been denied credit based on information that they provided to a potential lender. It may take some time to get through to the credit bureaus to request a copy of your credit report, but this is well worth your time to do so. Be sure to get a copy of it from all three of them, since some lenders only report to one or two of them. This means that the information on your credit report from one credit bureau is almost certainly not going to be identical to the data from another credit bureau.

If you notice any errors on your report, you should complete a dispute form with the credit bureau. When they send you a copy of your credit report, they will usually include instructions on how to file a dispute for erroneous or inaccurate information. Some experts say that if you are disputing say 5 different items, you should file 5 separate dispute forms so each one can be addressed specifically. There is some merit to that discussion, since the credit bureaus may view a dispute consisting of many items as “frivolous” and not take appropriate action to correct the information.

Another excellent reason for keeping an eye on your credit report is because you will then be aware of any attempts at identity theft. Identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes of this century, and if someone has stolen your identity to open new accounts in your name, it will likely show up on your credit report. You should take the time to become familiar with identity theft and what you can do about it at Preventing Identity Theft.

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you can dispute information in your credit files with the three credit bureaus, and the creditor is required by law to verify the disputed information. You have the right (and indeed, the obligation) to dispute the completeness and accuracy of information in your credit files. When a credit bureau receives a dispute, they must investigate and record the current status of the disputed items within a “reasonable period of time”, usually defined as 30 days. If the information reported on your credit report cannot be verified by the creditor, the credit bureau is required by law to remove the information.

Check your credit report regularly, at least once per quarter. Even if the creditor misses that 30 day window, they can report the information again later, at which point when you see it appear again, you can (and should) dispute it again. Sometimes, for blatantly wrong information, you may want to contact the creditor directly and find out why they insist on putting inaccurate information on your credit report.

Repair Your Credit With a Credit Repair Kit

October 25th, 2006

Credit repair kit? You ask - what is it exactly?

If you could stretch your imagination a little bit, it’s something that is the equivalent of a toolbox. Say your kid sister asked you to repair her dollhouse. She says to you, “can you repair my little house? The ceiling fell a few inches and now it’s too low, the floor is crooked and the walls need a fresh coat of paint. Can you help me?”

So what do you do?

You go to the basement and grab your toolbox. You know there’s a drill in it, some nails, glue, a rag and clean paint brushes.

A credit repair kit works on the same principle of fixing something that isn’t right. It entails removing one obstacle that’s making you lose thousands of dollars annually paying those steep interest rates and insurance premiums - all because your credit score is the pits.

Credit Repair Kit: getting to 700 points

To obtain a better score is a task that needs your urgent attention. Not only will it improve your financial condition, but it will also open doors to money opportunities that you can’t take advantage of at the moment because your credit isn’t too impressive.

One smart way of mending your credit score is to look into a credit repair kit that will provide you with all the tools you need to start the process of rebuilding. You can repair a dollhouse that will be the talk of the town, but if you continue with that down and out credit rating, the whole town will be talking about you.

What’s in a credit repair kit? Remember that not all kits come with all the tools. If you’re not sure which one you need, you may want to check around to see if you could get a free credit repair kit. If it does not meet your needs, you can discard it; at least you didn’t pay for it.

There is one credit repair kit being sold for a reasonable $20.00. The seller claims that it’s your stairway to heaven; that is, getting your score to 700 eventually so you can pay less in financing costs. The kit is organized into ten sections, and for that price you get not 1 credit free letter repair sample but 28! That’s like getting the services of a credit law firm repair, minus the exorbitant legal fees.

This kit we saw online says that you follow the simple steps to an improved credit score, how to deal with a credit bureau or creditor who refuses to rectify their mistakes, and legitimate ways you can have negative information removed.

Want to do credit own repair? Try a credit repair kit today.

14 Common Credit Mistakes

October 25th, 2006

Establishing credit and wisely managing your credit becomes easier when you know how. You’ll feel empowered by taking knowledgeable steps towards good credit, and you’ll be on your way to purchasing real estate and greater financial freedom.

If you plan to finance real estate, either as a home buyer or an investor, avoiding these common credit mistakes will help you with your credit score and save you money in loan costs.

14 Common Credit Mistakes

1. Using expensive or undesirable types of credit costs too much and is negatively scored.

2. Accumulating too many lines of credit or too many credit cards causes credit report remarks like “too much consumer credit.”

3. Only paying the minimum due keeps balances too high.

4. Being maxed out on any credit card or line of credit causes deep drops in scores.

5. Taking cash advances costs higher interest and extra fees.

6. Exceeding limit and having to pay over-limit fees is a negative with creditors and causes “high proportional amounts owed” remarks on credit reports and subtracts credit score points.

7. Paying a day or more late causes unnecessary late fees and often increases interest rates.

8. Charging more than you can afford causes a snowball effect of amassing debt with no easy way to pay it off.

9. Letting someone else use your credit, such as co-signing a loan, raises your debt-to-income ratio and possibly adds “too many consumer accounts” on your credit report, which lowers your score.

10. Ignoring credit problems causes unnecessary negative impact. Talk to creditors before being late and make arrangements. This action heads off negative reporting to credit bureaus.

11. Failure to report address changes to creditors causes misplaced bills and late payments.

12. Using partial name, different names, initials instead of whole name, or forgetting Sr. or Jr. causes mix-ups. Use your full legal name to protect you from confusion with similarly named borrowers.

13. Failure to report name changes to creditors also causes confusion.

14. Not checking credit report frequently is one of the most common mistakes consumers make.

You can buy real estate with poor credit, but you will save thousands in loan costs if you maintain good credit. A bad credit report leaves home buyers with sub-prime loans which have higher point charges, prepayment penalties, and higher interest charges, which therefore cost more money.

For instance, a mortgage loan of $150,000, 30-year, fixed interest rate of about 5.72 percent costs around $870 a month. Poor credit scores raise the interest rate over 9 percent and the payments over $1,200.

As you see from these payment differences, good credit means that you can finance a more expensive house with the same income, or save $330 each month.

Credit Requirements for Mortgages

Credit needed to buy real estate is not the same as good credit. Besides your credit score, mortgage lenders consider your debt-to-income ratio and other credit matters, unlike other credit grantors. Your debt-to-income ratio is the comparison of mortgage payment, including taxes, interest, and insurance to your total gross monthly income. Real estate lenders also consider your employment qualifications and your overall debt ratios. Understanding the difference between good credit and the credit needed to obtain real estate financing helps you buy houses!

Avoiding credit mistakes helps you get strong credit and keeps your credit scores up.

Credit Repair, Doing it Yourself

August 11th, 2006

We all know what bad credit can do to our ability to get financial help when it is needed the most. Although, it is a part of life, things do get out of hand; missing payments and piling up debts; we don’t always control everything that happens to us in life. But that does not make bad credit less damaging, anyway. Bad credit could readily make a bad situation worse. It prevents you from getting loans, financial help or credit cards, or makes you pay neck-breaking interests on loans. Since we all will need credit someday, the earlier you start doing something about that bad credit, the better. It sure will be no good to pay off debts just before requesting credit, because most lenders are more interested in your financial history.

It may not be so easy to repair bad credit, but there are steps you can take to make the whole process easier. So, when you find yourself in such a situation, the following advice could be of great help.

I think the first port of call should be the credit bureaus responsible for providing credit reports in your locality or country. Each country has established credit bureaus with the task of monitoring your credit performance, as reported by financial institutions and you can always get your credit report from these bureaus, free or for a fee, depending on your country. If there is more than one established bureau, you may want to get each body’s version of your report. It affords you the privilege of comparing the different versions. The reason why the reports may differ is that they are prepared based on the information supplied to the bureaus and it is possible they get different information about your accounts from different reporters.

Once you have the reports, scour them for errors. Don’t be surprised to find mistakes or negative comments that are not true in your reports, it happens. You will also want to take note of credits that have been cleared but are still showing in your report, or accounts you cannot remember opening. Fraudsters do open accounts in people’s names only to clear out the credit when the attached credit line gets reasonable. These are all very bad for your credit rating. You may also find scathing negative comments in your report. For a start, you will need to clear all these anomalies. Get accounts that are not yours removed from your credit report. Talk to creditors who are reporting negative comments about you or still showing bad debts that have been paid. You may be pleasantly surprised at how many creditors are willing to cooperate once you have explained your situation. The bottom line is communication. Talk to creditors; explain the situations you are facing. People can’t help you if you don’t tell them what you are experiencing. Besides, you can file a dispute, if you are sure some negative comments or bad debts are not supposed to be on your credit and the creditor don’t want to cooperate, especially when you have documents to back up your claims.

There are times when the scathing comments on your report are indeed true. However, if your account is in a good condition now, you could still talk with the creditors and arrange to get the comments removed from your report. Your credit report will look better with fewer of those negative comments. Another factor that needs to be considered is the amount of debts hanging round your neck. Too much debt, definitely, spells pending financial crisis and a low credit rating. Lenders will be reluctant to grants loans or credit lines, if your report shows significant debts, even if you have re-paid most of the debts. Too much debt is a sign of financial recklessness, it does a heck of a lot of damage to your credit rating. The ugliest side of the story is that you will be required to pay higher interest rates for loans if your credit is bad, to cover the risk of lending you money. It is wise a idea to keep debts less than 30% of your limits and to pay off debts with the highest interests rates first.

Just as too many accounts will pull down your credit, too few accounts may also be harmful. If you don’t have enough established accounts, your credit may be poorer than it should be. Adding departmental store or gas cards account that are in good standing to your credit report will surely boost your credit standing. Another idea is to get a loan or credit card and buy something you know you can pay for quickly. Re-paying debts on small loans or credit card purchases quickly will speed up your chances of repairing bad credit.

Bad credit is not a thing to get over with in a hurry. It takes time and requires patience. Take your time, clear your debts gradually beginning with those with the highest interests rates. Your seriousness in dealing with past debts could impress lenders and show them you are financially serious and reliable. Whatever you do, remember that you are affecting your financial future.

Clean Credit Report: Easily Raise Your Credit Score 100 Points

August 11th, 2006

Your credit report contains information about where you work, live and how you pay your bills (On time or not). It also may show whether you’ve been sued, arrested or have filed for bankruptcy with in the last 10 years. Companies called consumer reporting agencies (cra) or credit bureaus compile and sell your credit report to businesses all over the world.

Many financial advisors suggest that you periodically review your credit report for inaccuracies or omissions. This could be especially important if you’re considering making a major purchase, such as buying a home. Checking in advance on the accuracy of information in your credit file could speed the credit-granting process, clean credit is a must.

Because businesses use this information to evaluate your applications for credit, insurance, employment, and other purposes allowed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), it’s important that the information in your report is complete and accurate.

Whenever you apply for any type of credit or financing, a credit report is pulled from at least one of the three major credit bureaus. You want a clean credit report to be pulled. While there are hundreds of smaller credit bureaus around the country, virtually every credit bureau is affiliated with either Experian, Trans Union, or Equifax.

Getting Your Clean Credit Report

If you’ve been denied credit, insurance, or employment because of information supplied by a credit reporting agency, the FCRA says the company you applied to must give you the agency`s name, address, and telephone number. If you contact the agency for a copy of your report within 60 days of receiving a denial notice, the report is free. In addition, you’re entitled to one free copy of your report a year.

If you simply want a copy of your report, call each credit bureau listed since more than one agency may have a file on you, some with different information.

The three major national credit bureaus are:

Equifax, P.O. Box 740241, Atlanta, GA 30374-0241; (800) 685-1111.

Experian (formerly TRW), P.O. Box 2002, Allen, TX 75013; (888) EXPERIAN (397-3742).

Trans Union, P.O. Box 1000, Chester, PA 19022; (800) 916-8800.

Correcting Errors For Clean Credit.

To protect all your rights under the law and to keep your credit clean contact both the CRA and the information provider.

First to get clean credit reports, tell the credit reporting agency in writing what information you believe is inaccurate. Include copies (please keep your originals) of documents that support your position. In addition to providing your complete name and address, your letter should clearly identify each item in your report you dispute, state the facts and explain why you dispute the information, and request deletion or correction. Always keep copies of your dispute letter.

They must reinvestigate the items in question, usually within 30 days, unless they consider your dispute frivolous. They also must forward all relevant data you provide about the dispute to the information provider. After the information provider receives notice of a dispute from the CRA, it must investigate, review all relevant information provided by the CRA, and report the results to the CRA. If the information provider finds the disputed information to be inaccurate, it must notify all nationwide CRAs so they can correct this information in your file. Disputed information that cannot be verified must be deleted from your file, then you will recieve a clean credit report, with that item removed.

If your report contains erroneous information, the CRA must correct it(clean credit).

If an item is incomplete, the CRA must complete it. For example, if your file showed that you were late making payments ( 30 days or more), but failed to show that you were no longer delinquent, the CRA must show that you’re current.

If your file shows an account that belongs only to another person, the CRA must delete it.

When the reinvestigation is complete, they must give you the written results and a free copy of your clean credit report, if the dispute results in a change. If an item is changed or removed, they cannot put the disputed information back in your file unless the information provider verifies its accuracy and completeness.

Also, if you request, they must send notices of clean credit report corrections to anyone who received your report in the past six months. Job applicants can have a corrected copy of their clean credit report sent to anyone who received a copy during the past two years for employment purposes. If a reinvestigation does not resolve your dispute, ask the CRA to include your statement of the dispute in your file and in future reports.

Second, in addition to writing to the credit agency, tell the creditor or other information provider in writing that you dispute an item. Again, include copies (please not originals) of documents that support your position. Many providers specify an address for disputes. If the provider then reports the item to any credit reporting angency, it must include a notice of your dispute. In addition, if you are correct that is, if the disputed information is not accurate the information provider may not use it again, thus you will have a clean credit report.

When negative information in your report is accurate, only the passage of time can assure its removal. Accurate negative information can generally stay on your report for 7 years.

Clean Credit: There are certain exceptions:

Bankruptcy information may be reported for 10 years.

Information about criminal convictions may be reported without any time limitation.

Credit information reported in response to an application for a job with a salary of more than $75,000 has no time limit.

Information about a lawsuit or an unpaid judgment against you can be reported for seven years or until the statute of limitations runs out, whichever is longer. Criminal convictions can be reported without any time limit.

Credit information reported because of an application for more than $150,000 worth of credit or life insurance has no time limit.

Adding clean credit accounts to your file:

Your credit file may not reflect all your clean credit accounts. Although most national department stores and all-purpose bank credit card accounts will be included in your file, not all creditors supply information: Some travel, entertainment, gasoline card companies, local retailers, and credit unions are among those creditors that don’t report clean credit.

If you’ve been told you were denied clean credit because of an insufficient credit file or no credit file and you have accounts with creditors that don’t appear in your credit file, ask the CRA to add this information to future reports. This will help get you on the road to a clean credit report. Although they are not required to do so, many CRAs will add verifiable accounts for a fee. You should, however, understand that if these creditors do not report to the CRA on a regular basis, these added items will not be updated in your file.

the Drunken master defends the name Drunkensoccer from rioters

July 28th, 2006

The Drunken master, defends the Name Drunkensoccer

I am sorry to say this but to all of you who use this name “Drunken soccer” to cause riots and trouble at soccer games. I am warning you to stop use my name, especially the name Drunken soccer, because this is the name I use for my famous soccer e-book, and website drunkensoccer.com. I also want you to note that even though I am a Drunken master I have never cause a riot at any soccer game are have I ever cause trouble. That would result in the death of anyone present at these soccer games. I want you to stop using alcohol at these soccer games, because I know for sure that you all blame alcohol for your stupid actions and uses this for an umbrella to hide your bad deeds. And you are disgracing me as a drunken master of drunken soccer. So please stop calling yourself “Drunken soccer,” just call yourselves, “alcoholic trouble makers.”

Look at my blog Http://www.drunkensoccer2.blogspot.com

In my Drunkensoccer: Fainting e-book I warn my students not to drink alcohol and use any form of drugs that would destroy their minds and bodies. I even warn them of people like you, who uses alcohol as a drug to escape your problems, and also to create them. I made sure that they understand that even though I a a drunken master I do drink but I can control myself, and I never go over my limit. Meaning out of control! I strongly stat that they must only act like they are out of control but they should always be in control of their thoughts and actions.
My famous soccer e-book is not just a soccer e-book for learning the art of deception. Or soccer moves, it also have hidden within each pages, secret of martial arts. That my smart student will understand.

So, listen to me from today March 23, 2006, I want to see these changes. I want to see a decrease in all these riots and after soccer games fights.

The world cup is just around the corner and all the kids will be watching the world’s biggest and greatest sport “Soccer.”

So show these kids you a little respect by your actions of self control.

Okay, and what if we don’t do this crap. Well, you will have to answer to me the Legendary Drunken master.

I will show you what being drunk is really all about, please try me!

A poem for my “Drunkensoccer: Fainting” students all over the world.

As the world looks on, may my soccer game speaks of me. Yes, tell who I am.
A man in frames of thoughts, and actions! Of course, I am who I am. A being who is ready and waiting every action, so that I can react gracefully. Must I drink alcohol to attain the levels of my friends and foes, no! Will the world carry me as a drunken soccer, fool.

No, she only embraces those who are noble. Can I reach the heights of my purpose if I can’t control myself, no. So what must I do? Search and seek deep within, the answer to some of our problems rest.

As the days roll on may your life teaches who you are.
Express I must because this is who I am. No!

Then, who am I?

You are only an expression of who you want to be.

Yes, an EXPRESSION.

Meaning of Principle

July 27th, 2006

To live to the fullest of our potential is extremely hard to accomplish, but once you are able to accomplish it, that means you are fit to live and light enough that this human earth can hold.

“Meaning of Principle“, is not about defining the word by using English-English dictionary, but about interpretation of this philosophical term that would positively make us more conscious about our very earthly existence.

The human world is too broad and profound; a second means something eventuate just adjacent to us or other parts of the world and no matter how hard we try, we will definitely be not able to know everything. Just know to the extent that turn you to be a “good person” is enough, but that’s true: it is very hard.

How to be a good member of the family, leading toward a desirable member of the society and finally, the world’s wanted man? Many humanity intellectuals would show different opinions with regard to this, but the recommended method of this article is “to set your own principle.”

A huge number of people have confused that only the supreme administrative institutions (executive, legislative and judicial institution) that are authorized to set the principle, but this is very wrong: everyone is entitled to set their own principle. So what does principle in this sense mean? To its very simplicity, principle just mean “setting our destination + walk toward our already-set destination + never get protracted with the medieval barrier.”

Let’s me put my principle’s formula into oral explanation! First you must set the goal of your life (what you want to be tomorrow, when you reach adulthood, and on and on) and you must do anything (legally only), break any thorn, until the expression “this is my reality dream” honestly comes into your heart and appear into the concrete existence that you are the unique person to absorb its benefit. Principle must not be changed and if you change your set principle, you will not be a stable person; a person who is not serious enough to accomplish the respectable job in this world.

Do you know that the Constitution of the United States of America has never been amended (changed), Socrates never changed its philosophical stances, President George W. Bush never rectify his stance to attack Iraq, Sadam Hussein never believes the earthly judges, etc. These people always follow and implement their principles to the final ground, and we clearly see that they never fell sorry along the path that they have decided to walk on.
